Scheepjes Dawn Chorus CKAL: Bullfinch Blanket Kit Preorder

The Scheepjes CKAL Bullfinch Blanket kit contains the following items: 1 x Scheepjes Mega Whirl (60% Cotton and 40% Acrylic) of 666 grams, holding 2998 metres of yarn, 1 x tote bag, and 1 x set of 3 postcards.

The CKAL (Crochet-Along) will begin approximately eight weeks after Scheepjes announce the project on social media, to allow participants time to purchase the kits. This CKAL is suitable for confident beginners through to advanced crocheters or knitters.

The Bullfinch Blanket patterns, designed by Esther Dijkstra, showcase the classic colour changes for which the Scheepjes Whirl yarn is known. They incorporate repeated mitred square motifs in both crochet and knit techniques, creating a beautifully draping blanket with a soft colourway inspired by the shades of the lovely little bullfinch bird.

A Tips & Tricks PDF, which includes a summary of the materials, gauge/tension, measurements, pattern notes and chart notes, as well as additional technical information, will be issued one week prior to the start of the CKAL.

For the crochet version, the finished blanket measures 100 x 140cm (39½ x 55in), blocked, and is a join-as-you-go motif-based pattern. The knitting pattern, on the other hand, produces a blanket measuring 110 x 150cm (43¼ x 59in), blocked, also using a join-as-you-go motif-based design.

Throughout the four weeks of the CKAL, typically on Wednesdays at 12 noon CEST, Esther will be releasing blog posts and providing helpful tips. The information she shares will include videos, extra photos, handy tips, and additional details to aid participants in the process.

The Kit Three: Bullfinch Blanket by Esther Dijkstra allows knitters and crocheters to create a stunning blanket using the Limited Edition Mega Whirl yarn cake, which is almost 3km long. This project offers an opportunity for crafters of various skill levels to explore the classic colour changes and techniques showcased in Esther's designs.
